South Asian Studies Network

Programs:

In February 2009, the Colonial Academic Alliance created the CAA South Asian Studies Network to facilitate South Asian research, scholarship and study abroad.  The group is headed by the Coordinating Committee.  Collaborative initiatives will take place in the areas of:

• Language
• Research
• Study Abroad
• Information Sharing
• Conferences and Workshops

Learn about faculty members and others specializing in South Asia at the 12 CAA institutions.

News and Events:

As part of our inaugural efforts focusing on South Asia, the CAA hosted a one-day conference entitled "Shifting Identities and Globalization in Contemporary India."  The conference was attended by over 70 scholars and students representing 17 different institutions.  To see photos from the conference, click here.

We have a new listserv!  The CAA South Asian Studies listserv will link scholars, researchers, and study abroad professionals interested in South Asia.  The listserv will be used to share information and promote discussion and collaboration.  To join the listserv, please contact Carlin Anderson at candersv@gmu.edu.
